To make custom report building attainable to the average user, Best Software made Crystal Reports the standard reporting software in the General Ledger. The initial response has been favorable as most of our clients that have already upgraded, like the flexibility and the design wizard that Crystal offers. However, one problem that has surfaced for some of our clients concerns the General Ledger Detail Report. The good news is that this is easily remedied.
Companies that have been using MAS 90/200 for years are used to seeing one line per detail record when running the Detail Report. Due to the new potential length of account numbers growing to 32 digits, all reports have been built with this taken into consideration. The GL Detail report in version 4.0 is now two lines per detail record, making this report twice as long as before. If this presents a problem for your company, your reports can be modified through the Crystal Reports designer.
