NOTE The Allow Addition of New Items During Data Entry check box must be selected in the Sales Order Options window to be able to add inventory items or alias item numbers "on the fly" in Sales Order Entry or in Invoice Data Entry. In Sales Order Entry or Invoice Data Entry, you can enter new customers, inventory items, sales tax information, terms codes, country codes, contacts, and salesperson numbers, in addition to new miscellaneous charges, miscellaneous items, and comments without leaving those entry fields. This ability to add codes, item numbers, or alias item numbers "on the fly" allows you to complete the data entry process in an efficient, uninterrupted manner.
NOTE After a sales order is shipped and invoiced completely, it can no longer be viewed or maintained.
If you are entering a new code or item, the window that appears is similar to the appropriate maintenance window; for example, if you are entering a new miscellaneous charge, a window similar to the Miscellaneous Charge Maintenance window appears. |
