There are two levels of package tracking: summary and detail, both of which are optional. For summary-level package tracking, the Summary Package Tracking Maintenance window allows you to record the carrier's tracking number for each package being shipped. For detail-level package tracking, the Item Packaging Maintenance window allows you to record the contents of each package for item tracking.
