In a MAS 90 or MAS 200 environment, Citrix allows Crystal Reports to be produced remotely. Without Citrix, you won't be able to get your Crystal reports from home, the remote office, or on the road. Further, in version 4.0, all G/L and Library Master module reports are Crystal and no character-based standard reports exist. Soon, all MAS 90 and MAS 200 reports will be Crystal Reports.
As new technologies arrive, companies need to support a mix of platforms, systems and devices. Also, as new offices or acquired companies need to be integrated, a need arises to anticipate, withstand and recover from business interruptions. Citrix resolves most all information technology access issues such as, remote office connectivity, workforce mobility, application deployment, and business continuity. Citrix solves access-related problems by delivering a suite of software products and services that provide access to any device, over any network to any application or information source.
Technically speaking, Citrix is an enhanced version of Microsoft Terminal Services or XP Remote Desktop. It is a thin client receiving screen prints from a Terminal Server. An active user is said to have a "session" on the terminal server. |
